Swimming: Pioneer dunks Saline in SEC Red showdown

The Pioneer swimming and diving team continues to swim along in the deep end of the pool with another impressive win last week. The Pioneers dunked SEC Red rival Saline 120-66 as the defending D-1 state champs remain undefeated on the season.

The Pioneer team of Stella Chapman, Reese Heidenreich, Sophia Guo and Kate Van Ryn won the opening medley relay in 1 minute, 49.37 seconds.

Pioneer swept the 200 free with Lucy Mehraban first (1:57.53), Yan Yee Adler second (1:58.97) and Eva Woods third (2:05.30). Guo won the IM in 2:11.89. Van Ryn was third in the 50 free in 25.65. Grace Daly was fourth in diving with 207 points.

Guo won the butterfly in 58.62 and Heidenreich was third (1:03.06).

Pioneer went one-two in the 100 free with Mehraban first (51.61) and Chapman second (51.98).

Adler went 5:08.90 to win the 500 free. Woods was third in 5:41.03.

The Pioneer team of Mehraban, Meg Pinkerton, Ursula Ott and Guo won the 200 free relay in 1:39.52.

The Pioneers swept the backstroke with Bridgette Kamara first (59.36), Van Ryn second (1:03.94) and Maisie Weyhing third (1:05.36).

Chapman won the breaststroke in 1:06.11.

The Pioneer team of Mehraban, Adler, Ott and Chapman won the 400 free relay in 3:40.88.
