Swimming: Skyline swims past rival Huron in dual-meet
The Skyline swimming and diving team scored a 118-65 win over rival Huron on Thursday in a SEC dual-meet between two of the top teams in the conference.
Skyline opened with a win in the medley relay. The team of Owen McKelvey, Lewis McCammon, Lucas Caswell and Jack Staunton touched first in 1:40.48.
Ben Edlund won the 200 free (1:52.81) with Sawyer Thompson third (1:57.75).
The Eagles swept the 200 IM with Owen Torres first (2:08.85), Andy Xi second (2:09.30) and Chris Kurniawan third (2:17.23). Caswell was second in the 50 free in 23.41. Stuart Knight won diving with 235.30 points.
In the 100 butterfly, Chris Kurniawan won in 58.32 and Staunton was third in 58.45. In the 100 free, McKelvey was second in 51.49. The Eagles also swept the 500 free with Connor Zillich first (5:07.85), Staunton second (5:19.87) and Ian Deyer third (5:27.10).
The Skyline team of Thompson, McCammon, Caswell and Edlund won the 200 free relay in 1:34.49.
McKelvey won the backstroke (55.77) with Luke Jordan taking third (1:04.68). In the breaststroke, Caswell took first (1:01.39) and Thompson touched third (1:11.79).
Skyline’s 400 free relay team of Thompson, Xi, McKelvey and Edlund took first in 3:29.03.
