The Ann Arbor Farmers Market is open for onsite sales Saturday, Feb. 27, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., located at 315 Detroit St. You will find apples, apple cider, lettuce, carrots, radishes, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, greens, onions, garlic, herbs, microgreens, squash, poultry, eggs, pork, cheese, bread, baked goods, coffee, olive oil, Polish food, Mediterranean food, candles, jewelry, masks, body care products and more! Preordering from select vendors continues with curbside or walk-in pick up 8 a.m.-noon. For preorders, contact the vendor directly from our directory. We are accepting cash, and tokens for credit cards and SNAP/EBT/P-EBT are available at our market office window. While shopping and picking up preorders, please follow all physical distancing and safety guidelines posted and communicated by market staff. Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation is inviting you to get outside and take more walks in nature. You can enjoy the featured walks on your own, or come to the hosted events. No registration is necessary. Attend any hosted walk to pick up your walk challenge card for tracking and setting your walking goals. Earn a Visit Every Park knapsack after three walks. Featured walk of the week
- Sunday, Feb. 28, 1-2 p.m. at Southeast Area Park
Our final February park walk on the last day of the month features a paved pathway about ½ mile in length around the park. If you are looking to get your steps in on an even, flat surface and don’t want to commit to a long hike, this loop walk is a great choice. The park also has two playgrounds, convenient parking and
plenty of open space. - Saturday, March 6, 10-11 a.m. at Oakwood Nature Area
Natural Area Preservation staff is inviting you to get outside and take more walks in nature. This 55-acre park is located in the far northeast corner of Ann Arbor. It is an undeveloped park with natural, unpaved trails sprawling throughout. Oakwoods Nature Area is home to an oak-hickory forest, several ponds and a surrounding wetland that make it a beautiful spot for a hike in any season. Lansdowne/Churchill neighborhood flood project
The City of Ann Arbor, along with Washtenaw County Water Resource Commissioner’s Office, will be performing a project in the Lansdowne/Churchill neighborhood to address flooding and overland water flow that can be the result of severe rainstorms. The Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office will be responsible for performing or contracting for the project, consistent with best stormwater management practices. To brief the community on the project, city and county staff will be holding two virtual meetings, Thursday, March 4, noon-1 p.m. and 7-8 p.m., to provide information and answer any questions. Open skating has been extended at Buhr Park Ice Arena, 2751 Packard Road
Enjoy open skating at Buhr Park Outdoor Ice Arena when you preregister. Please note the lobby is closed. You will be asked to put skates on in designated areas outdoors. The onsite restrooms are accessible.
Preregistration is underway for the following timeslots:
Wednesday, March 3 and 10, noon-1 p.m., 1:30-2:30 p.m., 3-4 p.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 17, noon-1 p.m., 1:30-2:30 p.m., 3-4 p.m.
Skate rental is also available. Masks are required at all times while at Buhr Park including outdoors and on the ice. Please remain 6 feet apart from others outside your household. Buhr Park Ice Arena is now booked for rentals for half and full sheets of ice for the remainder of 2021. However, staff will begin booking group rentals in August 2021 for the next season. Skate this weekend at Veterans Memorial Park Ice Arena, 2150 Jackson Ave.
Veterans Memorial Park has open skating timeslots you can book online for the following dates:
Friday, March 5, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 6, 10-11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
