Two new local road closures begin this week (Dec. 14)

East Madison Street from South Main Street to South Fifth Avenue Closing to Through Traffic Monday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m.– Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 5 p.m. Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, East Madison Street between South Main and South Fifth Avenue will be closed to through traffic for sewer lining work. Eastbound traffic intending to travel on the East Madison Street will be detoured north on Main Street and southeast on Packard Street. Westbound traffic intending to travel on the East Madison Street would need to go northwest on Packard Street and south on Main Street. Local access will be detoured but will still have access.

Emergency vehicles should follow the detours. During construction, the contractor will maintain pedestrian traffic and detour it as required.

South Main Street between East William Street and Packard Street; Monday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m.– Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m.​Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, South Main Street​ will be closed to through vehicle traffic between East William and Packard for utility work​. Northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Packard Street, then north on South Fourth Avenue, then west on East William Street and back to South Main Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured east on East William Street, then south on South Fourth Avenue, then west on Packard Street and back South Main Street. Local businesses will have access maintained at all times. Pedestrians will detour from the east side of South Main Street to the west side of South Main Street at Packard Street and at West William Street.  ​
