International Folk Music Awards 2017 Artist of the Year Ordinary Elephant captivates audiences with their emotionally powerful and vulnerable songs, letting the listener know that they are not alone in this world. The collaboration of husband and wife Pete and Crystal Damore, their connection, and their influences (such as Gillian Welch, Guy Clark, Anais Mitchell) all meet on stage. “Two become one, in song…hand-in-glove harmonies surprise the listener with focused intensity and musical mastery,” says Mary Gauthier. PopMatters is calling their latest album, Honest, “easily one of the best folk duo records I have heard in years.”

Stephen Kellogg – Ark Family Room Series

Sunday, April 18, 7:30pm ET

“The music I make is a reflection of how I spend my time and what I care deeply about,” says Stephen Kellogg. His Americana-tinged, sometimes folk, often rock, occasionally pop stylings can make Kellogg hard to define, and his recent four-part album “South, West, North, East” embraces the notion of genre-splitting to the fullest. CBS Radio has called Stephen Kellogg “the best live act you’ve never seen,” and No Depression calls him “the best songwriter you’re not listening to.” We think it’s time to change this situation.

Ark Family Room shows are free and streamed to The Ark’s Facebook page. Donations to the “virtual tip jar” during shows support both The Ark and the participating artists.

Last seen at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, Sierra Ferrell is back for a special three-night virtual concert series, starting Sunday, April 18. Not only will the songs vary each night, but all shows are themed and will be filmed at different Nashville venues. Special guests will join Sierra each night. Purchase tickets for one, two, or all three unique shows – the VIP option includes a virtual meet and greet with Sierra prior to the show – and get ready to have some fun!

April 18: Honky Tonk night at American Legion

May 2: Calypso night at Dee’s Lounge

May 16: Jazz night at The Basement

*All shows begin at 8:30 p.m. EDT

At 7 years old, Sierra Ferrell started singing in a West Virginia bar. In her 20s, she left home to travel across the country with a troupe of wandering musicians, playing everywhere from truck stops to alleyways to freight-train boxcars. After years of busking on the streets of New Orleans and Seattle, she moved to Nashville and started playing shows around town. She soon drew the attention of Rounder Records and landed a record deal. Her debut full length album will be released later this year.
