Tennis: Skyline dominant in 8-0 win over SEC rival Monroe
The Skyline tennis team aced a big win over Monroe on Tuesday with a dominant 8-0 victory in an SEC dual-match.
At one singles, Skyline’s Anthony Van Oyen easily defeated Monroe’s Azariah Duran, 6-0, 6-1. Skyline’s Arya Joshi needed just two sets to knock off Monroe’s Hosea Duran, 6-0, 6-2.
At three singles, Skyline’s Arjun Joshi was perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Monroe’s Jacques Bezeau. It was the same scene at four singles as Skyline’s Daniel Rogers scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alex Popadich.
The Eagles also swept the doubles events.
At one doubles, Skyline’s William Kersch and Tejivir Thomas defeated Monroe’s duo of Kyle Pafford and Christian K.Lombardo, 6-3, 6-1. At two doubles, Skyline’s Aidan Osofisan and Arjun Bharadwaj knocked off Brady Copp and Tanner Bowman, 6-2, 6-2.
Skyline’s three doubles team of Nicash Bhagat and Luke Williams netted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Elliott Moore and Zane Johnson.
And at four doubles, the Eagles’ duo of Kaleb Schlecht and Lance Caswell defeated Tristan Mann and Kyle Sutherland, 6-0, 6-1.
