Swimming: Skyline opens season with tough dual-meet at Saline
The Skyline swimming and diving team opened the season in rough waters as they travelled to Saline on Thursday to take on the always strong Hornets. Saline scored a 134-52 victory in the SEC match.
The Skyline medley relay team of Lily Cleason, Sophia Nielsen, Claire Kozma and Shannon Lee took third in 1:54.56.
Gina Sadler was fourth in the 200 free in 2:05.12.
Cleason, only a sophomore, was third in the 200 IM in 2:15.98.
Junior Claire Kozma won the 50 free for the Eagles with a time of 25.50. Teammate Ericka Sauld was third in 27.22 and Allie Deininger was fifth in 27.45.
Skyline’s Payton Horning was third in diving with 148.85 points.
In the butterfly, Kozma was fourth in 1:04.83.
Lee took fourth in the 100 free in 58.98 while Aly Guevara was fifth in 59.34.
Sadler took second in the 500 free with a time of 5:29.29. Ella Enrique-Shakespeare was fourth in 5:51.28 and Marin Heusel was sixth in 5:58.72.
The Skyline foursome of Cleason, Kozma, Sauld and Sadler was second in the 200 free relay in 1:45.35.
In the backstroke, Cleason was second in 1:00.31 with Lee in fourth in 1:05.18.
Sophia Nielsen was second in the breaststroke in 1:15.17 and Miranda Nielsen was fifth in 1:19.57.
The Skyline foursome of Addison Kim, Johanna Horvath, Sky Rowley and Enrique-Shakespeare was third in the 400 free relay in 4:17.24.
