Swimming: Pioneers race past Ypsilanti to remain undefeated in dual-meets

The Pioneer boys’ swimming and diving team swam past Ypsilanti 153-18 as they won every event – something they’ve done often during this dominating season.

Pioneer’s team of Jack Wilkening, Anthony Gibbons, Robert Yang and Alex Farmer took first in the medley relay in 1 minute, 38.18 seconds. The team of Matthew DeBona, Samuel Fonte, Justin Su and Teodor Jaworski took second in 1:46.95.

Matthew Segal won the 200 free in 1:39.62 with Harrison Sanders second (1:48.84) and Jensen Wood third (1:54.80).

Ryan Hume continues his incredible season by going 1:57.01 to win the 200 IM. Caleb Rice, speaking of incredible, was second in 2:00.59 and Gabriel Almeida was third in 2:08.87.

Cameron Williston won the 50 free in 22.55 in a close race with teammate Gabriel Burks (second, 22.92). Gabriel Labadie was a close third in 23.41.

Cole Tremewan won the diving with 319.45 points. Max Rolla-Mullis was second (226.25) and Gabriel Mercier was third (209.70).

In the 100 butterfly, Su touched first in 54.37 followed by Jaworski (55.26) and Labadie (56.57).

Yang took first in the 100 free (48.39) with Williston second (48.77) and Alex Farmer third (49.26).

Wood won the 500 free in 4:52.54 with Alec Lipham second (5:09.67) and Shemke third (5:17.32).

The Pioneer team of Segal, Wilkening, Hume and Rice won the 200 free in 1:27.70. The foursome of Farmer, Sanders, Williston and Yang was a close second in 1:29.26.

Wilkening won the backstroke in 53.86 with DeBona second (59.55) and Sanders third (1:00.43).

Segal won the breaststroke in 56.23 with Sung-Jae Lee second (1:00.45) and Rice third (1:02.27).

The team of Hume, Williston, Yang and Segal won the 400 free relay in 3:11.04. The foursome of Farmer, Jaworski, Sanders and Rice took second in 3:17.54.
