Swimming: Pioneers dunk Mercy in match-up of two best teams in Division 1

All eyes in the swimming world were glued to Ann Arbor on Saturday as the top two teams in the state met for a dual-meet at Pioneer High School. Pioneer, ranked No. 1 in Division 1, scored a 119-67 win over Farmington Hills Mercy in a non-league match-up.

And while Mercy was missing a few key swimmers, the win and times the Pioneers put on the board was impressive. It also should be a confidence builder down the road – but the Pioneers still have plenty of work to do and times to drop before the meet Mercy and everyone else on the big stage next month.

Pioneer opened the meet with a win in the medley relay. The team of Quoia Sam, Amelia Weyhing, Holly Pringle and Autumn Bullinger went 1:47.01 to score first-place points.
