Swimming: Eagles wrap up dual-meet season with win over Huron

The Skyline swimming and diving team scored an impressive 96-90 win over city rival and vastly improved Huron on Friday night in an SEC dual-meet. It was the final dual-meet of the season for both the Eagles and River Rats.

The Eagles opened the meet by going one-two in the medley relay. The team of Shannen Lee, Sophia Nielsen, Claire Kozma and Erika Sauld took first in 1:55.18. The team of Aly Guevara, Addison Kim, Sky Rowley and Allie Deininger took second in 1:57.49.

Sophomore Lily Cleason took first in the 200 free in 1:57.07. Junior Gina Sadler touched third in 2:02.28.

Sophia Nielsen, only a freshman, was third in the 200 IM in 2:22.43. Sophomore Miranda Nielsen was fourth in 2:26.96.

In the 50 free, Kozma was second (25.17), Sauld took third (25.90), Lee was fourth (26.43) and Guevara took fifth (26.87).

Payton Horning was third in diving with 165.30 points. Jill Vaitkevicius was fourth with 150.90 points.

In the butterfly, Kozma was second in 1:01.64 and Kim took fourth (1:06.02).

Sauld finished third in the 100 free in 57.48. Lauren MacNeil was fourth (1:00.37) and Olivia Andrew-Vaughan was fifth in 1:01.99.

Sadler, a junior, took first place in the 500 free in 5:27.87. Ella Enrique-Shakespeare was second in 5:35.32.

The Skyline team of Kim, Lee, Sauld and Cleason touched first in the 200 free relay in 1:43.40.

Cleason returned to the winner’s circle in the 100 backstroke. She took first place with a time of 59.82. Guevara was third (1:02.90) and Lee fourth (1:05.69) for the Eagles.

Sophia Nielsen was third (1:13.17) and Miranda Nielsen took fourth (1:15.04) in the breaststroke.

The Skyline team of Kozma, Sadler, Cleason and Guevara took second in the 400 free relay in 3:49.07. The team of Lauren Sloan, MacNeil, Deininger and Ernique Shakespeare took third in 4:03.64.
