Swimming: Eagles open up dual-meet season with a splash

Skyline’s girls’ swim and dive team dominated their first dual meet of the season, winning by 50 points with a score of 118-68 against Eisenhower on Thursday. 

At the high energy meet, freshman Lily Cleason won all of her four events. She swam the 200 IM in 1:53.29 and the 100 Back in 1:01.42. Cleason lead off the 200 Medley relay with seniors Alison Lock and Alison Haak, and sophomore Claire Kozma in 1:53.29. Cleason anchored the 400 free relay finishing 3:51.91 with senior Madison Deininger, junior Ella Enrique-Shakespeare, and Kozma–who launched the race with a split of 55.71. 

Skyline took all four top places in the 50 free. Haak came in first in 25.53; Deininger second with 26.38; sophomore Alia Tracy in third at 27.19; with Lock rounding out the top four in a 27.59 finish.

Sophomore Jill Vaitkevicius, junior Peyton Horning, and freshman Maddie Robbins added a combined seven points on the diving boards.

The Eagles will compete at Saline on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.
