Softball: Fox’s no-hitter helps lead Skyline sweep of Huron

Carson Fox was brilliant in the pitcher’s circle on Thursday as she threw a no-hitter to help lead Skyline over Huron 16-1 in the first game of a double-header. Fox went all four innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out five and walking one.

Gabbie Toth collected four hits in four at-bats to help lead the Eagles on offense. She homered in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Esther Cohen also went 4-for-4 on the day. She had four RBI and scored twice in the win.

Skyline scored two in the first, five in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth. The Eagles had 20 hits in the four innings.

Megan Bondy had two hits and two runs scored, Fox had three hits and four RBI, and Jordan Hall had three hits and two RBI. Reyna Hyliard was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Skyline had 17 hits and scored seven runs in the first inning and nine in the second to take the second game 16-0 in three innings. Aliya Alam allowed just one hit in three innings with five strikeouts to earn the win.

Toth had three hits, including two triples, with two RBI and two runs scored. Cohen, Bondy, Hall, Alam (three RBI) and Nicole DiMarco all had two hits apiece in the win. Fox had a hit, two walks and three runs scored.

Every player on Skyline had at least one hit.
