Soccer: Pioneers score impressive win over Lincoln (WLAA photo gallery)
Tyler Wilkins had three goals – all in the first half – and the Pioneer soccer team scored a 7-0 win last week over visiting Lincoln.
Carter Kerwaby had two goals and Lucas Strickler and Diekgo Rivera each had a goal in the win.
Pioneer is starting to roll at the right time of the season. Pioneer Coach Jon Sundermann always seems to have his teams ready to play and playing their best when it matters most.
“Between injuries and illness, we really had to move guys around quite a bit and it felt like we lacked consistency in the first portion of season,” says Sundermann. “While we have a few key games to go, it feels like we are really starting to come together as the guys are getting healthy and embracing their roles. We are excited for the final stretch of the regular season. And although our District is very challenging with several high quality teams, we are optimistic for our chances in the postseason.”
