Season Preview: River Rats look to build on last year’s top 15 in the state showing

The Huron swimming and diving team finished in fourth place last year in the league. While fourth place doesn’t sound great, it’s pretty impressive considering it was in the SEC Red Division.

As proof, the River Rats finished 15^th in the entire state at the Divison 1 State Finals. Yeah, that’s pretty good.

Speaking of good, Huron has three solid returners back from last year. Senior Ben Hires along with juniors Eli Atkinson and AJ Stewart help give Coach Eric Stanczyk (14 years with the program) plenty of talent up front.

Huron opened the season Tuesday at Canton. They open their home schedule on Dec. 17 against South Lyon.
