Road Construction Update: East Huron closure to begin next week
East Huron Street between Glen Avenue and Zina Pitcher Place: Monday, April 5, at 7 a.m.– Friday, April 16 at 6 p.m. Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, April 5, in the first phase of a water service line project, the contractor will be occupying the middle two vehicle lanes, leaving one lane open in each direction. In the second phase, the contractor will be occupying the two eastbound lanes and shifting vehicle traffic to the westbound lanes, again, leaving one lane open in each direction. In the third phase, the contractor will be occupying the two westbound lanes and shifting vehicular traffic to the eastbound lanes, leaving one lane open in each direction. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the north side of East Huron Street and with a detour route along Fletcher Street to North University Avenue to Washtenaw Avenue. Emergency vehicles are advised to seek an alternate route.
