Pioneer Theatre Guild presents “The Play at Home Project”
PIONEER THEATRE GUILD PRESENTS THE PLAY AT HOME PROJECT
Eight short plays written by contemporary playwrights
About Play at Home: When COVID-19 put a pause on live productions, a group of theatre companies from across the country came together in the spirit of resilience, adaptation, and community, to commission a series of short plays to inspire joy and connection for all.

About PTG’s Production: PTG presents 8 of these plays, which were specially developed to be
performed virtually during the pandemic. They’re shows that can exist in their fullness from the viewer’s own living room. The cast and crew include 70 students from Pioneer, Community, Skyline high schools.
Producer and directing mentor, Jayme Kelmigian, explains the decision to present Play At Home: “PTG was really attracted to this particular project because it allowed our students to spend time together collaborating, rehearsing, and performing with one another. It was important for our students to direct and work with a small cast and crew so they could have a creative outlet during this difficult time of isolation. While this is certainly different from live theatre as we know it, it is something we are proud of and excited to share with audiences virtually.”
Pioneer student, PTG Student Board member, and Play At Home director Zoe Resendez describes the experience: “The Play At Home Project was such a great learning experience! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching the PTG family come together and work to create something we’ve never done before. Even through the Zoom screen, I still felt included and connected to those that were a part of the project. It felt really great to get back to creating art and work with a small group who loves theatre as much as I do. This being my first time directing, it was really special to have such a supportive group of people on my team. Throughout this experience, I have been reminded of how much talent, support, and love for each other lies within the heart of PTG.”
