Now that the Big Ten is back – is the MAC next to kick off football?

The Big Ten is back! Is the Mid-American Conference next?

There is probably little chance the MAC reverses course and tries to kick off a season in October or November. But February?

The Mid-American Conference is considering a proposal that would start the football season in February, according to The Toledo Blade’s Nicholas Piotrowicz. The proposal, according to The Blade, would start an eight-game schedule on Feb. 20 and the league would play some of its games on weeknights to avoid conflicting with the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

Jim Harbaugh: “Stay positive. Test negative. Let’s play football”

The February proposal has not been presented to the presidents of MAC schools who are still working on plans for the upcoming winter sports season.

The MAC was the first FBS league to spike football, announcing the suspension of the season on Aug. 8.
