No-cost virtual PATH workshops help those living with chronic disease

ANN ARBOR – If you are living with chronic pain, a chronic disease such as kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, or hypertension, or if you are caring for someone with a chronic disease, consider taking a Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) workshop presented by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM). Workshops are offered at no cost to participants. Each workshop features a facilitator working with a group to explore skills and tools to help people with specific health issues and their loved ones lead healthier lives. The online PATH workshops are open to all adult residents in Michigan. No transportation needed!

Sandi Copenhaver, who completed a virtual Diabetes PATH workshop this past spring, was very grateful for the workshop. “I liked it so much I told my doctor about it. He looked it up so he can refer others to it,” states Sandi. “My mother had kidney failure and was on dialysis. I don’t want to get kidney failure. I’ve been worried since I was diagnosed with diabetes about 4 years ago. I have learned so much to help manage my diabetes from this workshop. It was a godsend.”
