NKFM offers no-cost interactive online courses on chronic pain, kidney disease, diabetes and tools for caregivers

ANN ARBOR — If you are living with chronic pain, a chronic disease such as kidney disease or type 2 diabetes, or caring for someone with a chronic disease, consider taking a Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) workshop presented by the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan (NKFM). Workshops are offered at no cost to participants. Each workshop features a facilitator working with a group to explore skills and tools to help people with specific health issues and their loved ones lead healthier lives. The online PATH workshops are open to all adult residents in Michigan. No transportation needed!

“I’m very appreciative of the classes being offered and supported by grants and donations. Being able to take an evidence-based series of health class sessions right in the comfort of my own home has been a perfect opportunity for me. Having mobility challenges, chronic pain, and being high risk for COVID, they have made it accessible for me to participate, saved me time, fuel costs, and the ability to stay in a worry-free, safe environment. At 76, I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on my health. I highly recommend this class and the other distance learning opportunities as a way to improve one’s health,” states past PATH participant Carol V., who lives in southeast Michigan.
