Little Named Among Crain’s Detroit 2020 Notable Women in Design

Saundra Little, AIA, LEED AP, NOMA, Principal and Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Quinn Evans has been named one of Crain’s 2020 Notable Women in Design.

Honorees were selected by a team of Crain’s Detroit Business editors based on their career accomplishments, track record of success in the field, contributions to their community and mentorship of others. Little was selected for her understanding that the worldwide impact of black architects is significant.

She uses her architectural practice to pave the way for minority youth. She has been a strident mentor and advocate within the architectural industry to more than 200 African American students in Michigan through her involvement with the National Organization of Minority Architects, where she is the National Midwest Vice President.

She also provides paid hands-on internships to high school students.

In 2016, Little won the Knight Art Challenge Award for Noir Design Pari, a project that researches the history and collects the artifacts that tell stories of Detroit’s black architects. The project includes a book, ongoing bus tours, podcasts, and more.

Quinn Evans Architects is located at 219 N Main St. in Ann Arbor.
