It’s back!: Kerrytown BookFest Returning in 2020

ANN ARBOR — The Kerrytown BookFest will return to Ann Arbor in 2020 on Sunday, Aug. 30. The all-day event will be held at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market (315 Detroit
Street) in the city’s Kerrytown neighborhood.

Kerrytown BookFest was founded in 2003 and held annually through 2018, after which the BookFest Board decided to take a one-year hiatus to reorganize due to financial and volunteer
pressures. Board President Mary McDonald says she was heartened by the community’s response to this choice, as many Ann Arborites expressed support for the BookFest.

People “went out of their way to tell me that they cared about the Kerrytown BookFest and they wanted it back,” McDonald says. This encouragement was an important factor in the BookFest Board’s decision to resume the event in 2020.

The 2020 Kerrytown BookFest will include “more things to see and do,” McDonald says, including “arts and crafts to try, new things to learn, and new people to meet (along with some
old favorites).” As always, BookFest will celebrate Ann Arbor’s rich book history and the city’s vibrant literary scene.

Regular updates will be posted on the Kerrytown BookFest website and social media feeds.
