Invitation to Join Community Design Workshops March 9-11 on Downtown Ann Arbor Projects
As subscribers for Planning Updates and Planning Downtown, you are invited to join a conversation on a range of infrastructure projects under consideration in Downtown Ann Arbor.
Workshops Tuesday, March 9 – Thursday, March 11 will consist of several presentations, open discussions, and small group feedback sessions with DDA staff, City staff, and the design team. These projects include:
- State Street Project (from Washington to William)
- Division Street Bikeway (from Packard to Catherine)
- Miller/Catherine Street Improvement Project
- 4th Avenue Street & Transit Improvement Project
- Future Downtown Infrastructure Projects
These multi-day workshops will be facilitated as a fully virtual, on-line workshop, following the schedule described below. More details can be found HERE
SCHEDULE
Day 1 – Overview Sessions:
Tuesday, March 9, 12pm – 1:30pm via zoom: Presentation and Q & A
An overview presentation of the DDA’s People-Friendly Street program. We will discuss the role that infrastructure plays in shaping the health and well-beings of our communities and introduce the projects under discussion. A facilitated question and answer period and feedback survey will follow the presentation. A recording of the presentation will be provided following this session on this webpage.
Tuesday, March 9, 4pm – 5:30pm via zoom: Presentation and Q & A

Wednesday, March 10, noon – 2pm via zoom: Community Design Workshops
You have ideas, and we are ready to listen! This 2-hour session will provide a 30-minute overview presentation of the infrastructure projects that are advancing through the People-Friendly Street process. Following the presentation, you can attend virtual breakout rooms, talk directly with the design team, and provide their feedback on specific project ideas.
Wednesday, March 10, 4pm – 6pm via zoom: Community Design Workshops
You have ideas, and we are ready to listen! This 2-hour session will provide a 30-minute overview presentation of the infrastructure projects that are advancing through the People-Friendly Street process. Following the presentation, you can attend virtual breakout rooms, talk directly with the design team, and provide their feedback on specific project ideas.
Day 3 – Wrap up and Reporting out
Thursday, March 11, 4-5pm via zoom: Presentation and Q & A
You spoke – we listened! Please join us in this presentation, where the design team will report out on key findings and feedback generated during the workshops. Recommendations will be shared for advancing projects forward.
