This past October, the 12th annual Dan Jilek Memorial 5K Fun Run was held at Gallup Park to help fund fine arts and athletics in local schools. The mission of the Dan Jilek Memorial Fund is to continue Dan’s commitment to the pursuit of self knowledge and development of young men and women through participation in athletic and fine arts activities. The fund supports programs that allow young people the opportunity to develop leadership, creativity, and an appreciation for team effort in an environment where the values of character, determination and sportsmanship are promoted.
