Gutman Gallery’s exciting March exhibition, “Fleur,” runs March 5-26
ANN ARBOR – Earlier this year, The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild), most well known for producing the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, launched the Gutman Gallery, a fine art gallery and shop located at 118 N 4th Ave in Downtown Ann Arbor. The Gallery is open weekly Tuesday – Saturday, with special extended hours from 6-9 p.m., the evening of March 5 for the gallery’s second exhibition opening, “Fleur.”
The Guild invites the public to shop for unique works of art from this month’s exhibition as well as in the Gallery Shop, while enjoying light refreshments and sweets from several local partners, including, but not limited to: It’s a Good Day Donuts, Mighty Good Coffee, TeaHaus, and Wingman Water.
In addition to visual art, visitors attending the exhibition opening can also enjoy live music by Koro Kouyate, a 17-year-old high schooler making her way through the music industry. Her voice is like balm to the soul, her message one of empowerment, and her guitar playing a beautiful expression of spirit. Throughout the evening, Koro will perform all original music she has composed over the past nine years.
Gutman Gallery is an inclusive fine art space open to all regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion, racial group, etc. The space is open Tuesday – Friday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. With artists at the heart of everything that The Guild does, the exhibition features artwork from Guild artist members, as well as non-members, and is curated through jury selection.

The Gallery Shop is an opportunity only open to current Guild members. Each offers an exceptional opportunity for artists as they have highly competitive commission rates. Recent renovations to the space were made possible with support from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

The Guild of Artists & Artisans is a non-profit, membership organization of professional artists. Established in 1970, The Guild’s mission is to promote community awareness, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and to maintain a support network for artists, which provides educational, mentoring and marketing opportunities. The Guild is recognized and valued for its ability to showcase independent artists, bringing their artwork to the community via its juried fine art and fine craft fairs. It is a trusted source for artists and fairgoers alike. The Guild is best known for its award-winning Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.
The Gutman Gallery is proudly named after Vic Gutman: Vic Gutman, president and founder of Vic Gutman and Associates (VGA), graduated from the University of Michigan in 1974. While a student, he helped create the “Free Art Fair,” now known as the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair and founded the Michigan Guild of Artists & Artisans. Gutman helped establish the Omaha Summer Arts Festival in 1975 and founded VGA in 1978. Since that time, he has provided communications, organizational development, event management and fundraising services for hundreds of non-profit organizations including The Rose Water Theater, in COMMON, Immigrant Legal Center, Latino Center of the Midlands, MENTOR Nebraska and Girls Inc. Vic also worked as an assistant public defender in Douglas County, Nebraska from 1980-1986
