Golf: Skyline wins Ann Arbor City Championship for sixth year in a row
For the sixth consecutive year, the Skyline boys’ golf team is city champion!
The Eagles fired a team score of 305 on April 12 at the tough Barton Hills course to finish first among the five Ann Arbor schools. Greenhills was second with a 319 followed by Father Gabriel Richard (341), Pioneer (355) and Huron (358).
“It’s always a challenging course but the wind and cold added on to some fun as well,” said Skyline Coach Ashley Mantha. “ I think that was the quickest round yet though (four hours). Our guys rose to the challenge and took the team win.”
Sophomore Mitchell Strickland led the Eagles with a 73. Freshman leaun Jones fired a 76 and both freshman Vibhav Alokam and senior Vimal Alokam carded a 78. Sophomore Lance Maugh shot a 79 and sophomore Hank Roebuck fired an 81 for the Eagles.
