Girls Cross Country: Dudek’s win helps lead Pioneers to fifth place at MSU Invite

Last season Zofia Dudek was her typical awesome self at last year’s Division 1 cross country State Finals at MIS. She placed second overall with a time of 17:59.8 to help lead her team to a second-place finish.

Dudek is right on course for another big finish. Now a senior, Dudek took first at the SEC Jamboree on Sept. 10 and then scored a PR time of 17:08.6 to finish first at Saturday’s MSU Spartan Invite. Two races, two firsts. Sounds about right.

The speedy senior helped lead the Pioneers to a fifth-place finish at MSU. Pioneer finished with 164 points. Beavercreek took first overall with an impressive 86 points. East Grand Rapids was second (122), Hilliard Davidson was third (132) and Centerville fourth (154).

Pioneer sophomore Sarah Forsyth was 23rd with a time of 18:55.1.
