Girls Basketball: Huron opens season with two easy wins

The Huron girls’ basketball team opened the season with a pair of fairly easy wins.

The Smith sisters led the way on Saturday in a 70-45 win over Muskegon. Siena Smith had 25 points while her sister, Jadyn, contributed 18 points. Reeya Patel scored nine points and Mckenzie Maciejewski added eight points in the victory.

On Monday, Huron knocked off River Rouge 68-16.

Patel led all scorers with 14 points. Maciejewski had 11 points and Alexa Lyon scored 10 for the River Rats. Jadyn Smith had nine rebounds and Siena Smith had six assists.

Huron plays at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Arbor Prep.
