Girls Basketball: DeWolf, Clark help lead Pioneer over Ypsilanti

The Pioneer girls’ basketball team took a rather comfortable 22-14 lead into halftime against Ypsilanti on Tuesday night before cranking up the offense in the third quarter.

Pioneer scored 22 points in the third to take a 44-20 lead into the final quarter and cruised to a 59-33 win over the Grizzlies in an SEC Red Division game at Ypsilanti.

Pioneer has lost just once this season – to Saline – and will return to action on Friday at Lincoln.

The Pioneers had six players score six or more points in the victory.

Lauren DeWolf led the way with 15 points and Alexis Clark scored 12. Mya Hicks hit two triples and finished with nine points, Jackie Brines and Felicia Stewart each finished with seven points and Kayla Covington scored six in the win.
