Election News: Satellite City Clerk’s Office to Open on UofM Campus

​Students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan will have a convenient and easily accessible way to register to vote and to vote absentee in the upcoming Presidential Election. The Ann Arbor City Clerk is opening an on-campus satellite office 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, located inside the U-M Museum of Art Stenn Gallery, first floor, 525 S. State St. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor will be present at 10:15 a.m. for this historic opening Sept. 22, which also happens to be National Voter Registration Day.

The first of its kind in the state, the satellite city clerk’s office will be open with the following hours until Tuesday, Nov. 3:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22–Friday, Oct. 23: 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
    • Tuesday, Sept. 22–Wednesday, Sept. 23: Voter registration only.
    • Thursday, Sept. 24: Absentee voting begins.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24–Saturday, Oct. 3:
    • 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
    • 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturdays.
  • Monday, Nov. 2: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Election Day Tuesday, Nov. 3: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, the satellite office will only be accessible to U-M students, faculty and staff who plan to vote in Ann Arbor. A valid M-Card will be required for entry to the satellite office.

All Ann Arbor voters can visit the primary Ann Arbor City Clerk’s Office at Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron St. The city hall office will have special hours, in addition to its 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday regular hours, leading up to the Presidential Election:

  • Wednesdays in October: 8 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 3: 7 a.m.–8 p.m.
