Detour Ahead: New local road closures announced for this week and next

Barton Drive Water Main Replacement and Resurfacing Project, Pontiac Trail to Traver Street: Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 a.m.– Monday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m. Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, Barton Drive between Traver Street and Pontiac Trail will be closed to through traffic for utility work and pavement replacement. The road will remain open to local traffic only. Westbound vehicles will be detoured at Plymouth and Barton southwest along Plymouth Road, northwest on Moore Street, and north on Pontiac Street back to Barton Drive. Eastbound vehicles will be detoured at Pontiac and Barton south on Pontiac Street and Swift, and northeast on Broadway and Plymouth back to Barton Drive.

Wall Street from Maiden Lane Court to Broadway Street: Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 a.m.– Friday, Nov. 13, at 5:30 p.m. Beginning 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, northwest-bound Wall Street traffic will be detoured at Maiden Lane Court to continue driving on Maiden Lane to Broadway Street, Plymouth Road or Moore Street. Southeast-b​ound Wall Street traffic will be maintained for the duration of the work. Local northwest-bound traffic for the surface parking lots and Wall Street East parking structure will be maintained from Maiden Lane Court to Nielsen Court. Pedestrian traffic will continue to be maintained on the southwest side of Wall Street. Emergency vehicles are advised to follow the posted detour.  ​

East William Street between South Main Street and South Fourth Avenue: Monday, Nov. 9, at 9 a.m.– Thursday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. Beginning 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, eastbound West William Street traffic shall turn right onto South Main Street, then turn left onto Packard Street, then left onto South Fourth Avenue, and turn right back onto East William Street. Westbound East William Street traffic shall turn left onto South Fourth Avenue, then turn right onto Packard Street, then turn right onto South Main Street, and turn left onto West William Street.  

Emergency vehicles will need to follow the posted detour. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the north side of East William Street for the duration of the road closure. Access to the bikeway will be maintained in both directions.​
