CTN Video: Watch AA Sustainability Forum – “Food & Food Access: What We Eat & How We Get It”

The City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations is announcing the return of the annual Sustainability Forums series for 2021. The first of this five-part series launched via Zoom on Jan. 28,  exploring the topic, “Food and Food Access: What we eat and how we get it.” See video below courtesy of CTN.

Each of these Forums in the City of Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations series, which will be replayed on CTN, directly relates to A2ZERO, Ann Arbor’s plan for a just transition to carbon neutrality by 2030. The plan specifically calls for supporting plant-rich diets and supporting equity programs.

Joining the discussion will be a panel of organizations whose local work directly relates to closing the gap on food insecurity and/or promoting healthy diets. Panelist organizations include Ann Arbor Meals on Wheels, the Washtenaw Food Policy Council, DefaultVeg and more. Each panelist will present on the important work they’re moving forward followed by a public Q&A.

Forums this year will be held online via Zoom. Attendance is always free, but registration is required HERE . Upcoming forum topics include: Forestry and Green Infrastructure (Feb. 24), Waste Reduction and Circular Economy (March 24), Energy Production and Use (date TBD), and a special yet-to-be-announced topic.
