Crew: Skyline hosts Head of the Gallup this Saturday

The Skyline Crew Program is hosting the Head of the Gallup this Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is a  “head race” –  think time trial, with boats being released down the course in processional fashion.

“This is the first time we have tried to host an event like this on our body of water,” says Skyline Crew Coach Kit Bennett. “The race will be 2400m long.”

The following teams are competing:
Skyline
Pioneer
Orchard Lake St Marys
Notre Dame Academy (Toledo)
Traverse City Tritons
St Johns Jesuit (Toledo)

This race will be a benefit event for Ozone House.

“Instead of charging entry fees for the event, we are asking teams to make a donation instead,” said Bennett. “Considering we work with teenagers, we felt Ozone House was a great recipient. We hope to raise close to $1,000 for them.”
