Busch’s Season of Sharing Fights Hunger with Food Gatherers
Busch’s Fresh Food Market is raising food and funds during its annual holiday fundraiser from November 18 – 27. Donations collected at the Washtenaw County Busch’s locations will benefit Food Gatherers.
This holiday season, one in seven residents of Washtenaw County won’t have enough to eat. During Busch’s Season of sharing, community members can help put more meals on more tables.
“Food Gatherers has been fighting hunger where we live for more than thirty years, and Busch’s is a great supporter of our work,” said Eileen Spring, president and CEO of Food Gatherers. “Hungry people in our community have to choose between buying food and paying for their utilities, medicine and transportation. Your support helps your neighbors overcome these obstacles.”
There are many ways to donate during the event: drop off non-perishable food in the Food Drive Bin at your local Busch’s; purchase a pre-made Ready-To-Go Bag for $10 and drop it in the Food Drive Bin; purchase a gift tag for a $10 meat donation, a $5 produce donation, or a cash donation for any amount you wish; donate your bottle return slips; or start a collection within your organization and bring all non-perishable food to your nearby Busch’s by Nov. 27.
Community members can visit any of the four Washtenaw County Busch’s location to participate in the fundraiser and help fight hunger where they live.
