Bravo CTN!!! Community responds to local channel’s excellent work during challenging times
Community Television Network (CTN) has been a critical communications resource for Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County during the COVID-19 pandemic. The well-respected and award-winning network kept the community up-to-date on all the latest news that was changing on a daily basis in March and April.
CTN proved how essential LOCAL communication resources are not just in a time of crisis but in everyday life. And that community spirit and ability to reach a specific, local audience was noticed around town.
Community members not only noticed, but appreciated the important work that continues to be produced by CTN.
“It was a pleasure working with CTN this summer as we adapted to meet the moment of the pandemic,” says James Carter, programming & operations manager for the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. “We were thankful to offer some of our traditional educational programming on CTN, which allowed us to reach a wider audience.”

Hannah Cooley of the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission agreed that CTN is a “pleasure to work with” and a valuable part of this community.
“In a year where our (Parks) department has been faced with unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, we’ve had to explore new ways to reach and connect with our community and CTN has been there to help us along the way,” Cooley said. “They have gone above and beyond to help us first roll out a video for the Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center informing patrons of what they can expect when they return to the facility.
“Then, to assisting us with a virtual tour of Parker Mill so we could still provide an educational experience to the community, but from the comfort of their own home. CTN has been patient with us as we learn the art of production, and they provide an extremely professional and friendly service to the community. We feel very lucky to have been able to work with them this year, and we cannot say enough good things about our experience with their team.”
Linda Evans, Ann Arbor Inclusive Co Producer & Liaison, Ann Arbor Commission on Disability Issues, has been impressed with CTN since day one of the pandemic.
“CTN and their staff has been awesome to work with,” Evans says. “During this pandemic I was pleased to find out we could use Zoom to continue to record Ann Arbor Inclusive. Tim Nagae, CTN producer, made the transition seamless from on-set to virtual interviewing.”
