Boys Water Polo: Skyline opens season with a busy schedule
The Skyline boys’ water polo team kicked off the season with a busy week.
On Wednesday, the Eagles lost to crosstown rival Pioneer 14-4. Ben Deininger and Ben Edlund each had a pair of goals. Alex Enrique-Shakespeare had several amazing saves in goal.
The Skyline JV team beat Pioneer in what was not just the first game for many of these boys, but also the very first time they had even practiced.
On Friday, the Eagles jumped back in the water with a tough 11-10 loss to Huron in an exciting match.
Skyline goals were scored by Ben Deininger (3), Ben Edlund (2) Luke Suliman (2), Evan McKelvey (1), Daniel Koselka (1) and Rohan Sharma (1). Assists went to Evan McKelvey (2), Ben Deininger (1), John Evangelista (1), Luke Suliman (1) and Jack Staunton (1). Steals were recorded by Ben Deininger (5), Evan McKelvey (2), Ben Edlund (1), John Evangelista (1), and Luke Suliman (2)
Evan McKelvey won all four sprints at the start of each quarter.
On Saturday, Skyline lost to Dexter 14-7 in the Dexter Varsity Tournament.

Skyline lost 11-5 to Pioneer at the Dexter Tournament.
