Behind the scenes with the AAPS food distribution efforts
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Michigan in March, closing schools across the state, the Ann Arbor Public Schools have distributed nearly 600,000 meals. That’s thanks to the dedicated work of two teams of food service workers, bus drivers, and several community partners like Peace Neighborhood Center and Community Action Network.
Recently Superintendent Jeanice Swift visited the kitchens at Pioneer and Skyline to thank the teams that have assured children across the Ann Arbor area are receiving breakfasts and lunches seven days a week and learn more about the operation.
Meals are delivered on Mondays and Thursdays each week and full details on the distribution are available here.
