Basketball: Former Pioneer standout Drew Lowder off to impressive start at Holy Cross

Drew Lowder has taken his game to another level – and his performance as well.

The former Pioneer standout has made an impressive debut at the collegiate level with Division 1 Holy Cross. Earlier this week, Lowder scored a team-high 18 points in an 80-72 loss to Canisius. The super quick point guard made four triples and seven field goals in 26 minutes.

In his first few months on campus, Lowder has been as good as it gets for the Crusaders. He scored a season-high 24 points at Maryland and had a season-high six assists against Harvard.

In his first eight games in college, Lowder has made six starts, averaging 27.3 minutes and 14.3 points per game.

Lowder was ranked as one of the top three guards in Michigan his senior year and was a preseason Michigan Mr. Basketball candidate by Inside Prep Sports. He played on the national AAU circuit with The Family in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League and 1 Nation in the Under Armour Association.

He was a two-time All-SEC First Team selection at Pioneer.

Lowder’s friend and former Skyline standout Ryan Wade also plays for Holy Cross and is getting plenty of minutes in his first year. Wade has played in all 11 games and averaging 20.5 minutes per game. He is averaging 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds.
