Baseball: Ryan Gensheimer tosses no-hitter to give Skyline split with Monroe
After dropping the first game 5-2 to Monroe in an SEC baseball double-header on Wednesday, Ryan Gensheimer made sure the Eagles were not going to return to Ann Arbor without a win. Gensheimer threw a no-hitter to help lead Skyline to a 4-0 win in the nightcap.
Gensheimer went six innings, throwing 82 pitches with four strikeouts and three walks – and NO hits.
Ian Decz and Lewis McCammon (RBI) each managed one hit to lead the Skyline offense. Donovan Hill an d Landry Jobe each had a walk and scored a run. Andrew Walworth and Owen Sluymers-Tuccinardi also scored runs for the winners.
Skyline scored two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
In the opener, Sluymers-Tuccinardi had two hits including a double along with a walk and run scored. McCammon had a double and Decz, Jake Middleton and Eli Bishar each had hits for Skyline.
Monroe led 3-0 after five innings. After Skyline scored a run in the sixth, Monroe answered with two in the sixth inning. Skyline scored a run in the seventh. The Eagles had six hits while Monroe had nine in teh game. Skyline also made four errors.
The Eagles play at Waterford Kettering on Saturday.
