Ann Arbor Visual Arts Non-Profit Completes $5.34 Million Capital Expansion Campaign

ANN ARBOR – In response to an ever-growing demand for art activities, the A2AC has completed a five-year Capital Campaign that expands its footprint in Downtown Ann Arbor’s Creative District, offering new and enhanced classrooms and more free exhibition spaces accessible to all visitors.

Their historic buildings on W Liberty St have been fully renovated, with infrastructure updates falling into three categories:  Accessibility, Health & Safety, and Energy Efficiency. This includes ramps connecting the buildings, new HVAC systems that constantly deliver fresh air, and new LED lighting – all improvements designed to give you the best possible experience once you’re in the A2AC.

Providing more studio space for events, classes, and exhibitions enables the A2AC to meet the growing student demand for art education, increase opportunities for community partnerships, and participate in more creative collaborations.

“We had a lot of foundations and grantors that were excited about what we’re doing,” Klopf said in a recent interview with MLive. “A lot of individuals, students, you name it — people came together. They love this place. They love this art center, and it is crystal clear to me that they’re invested in the success of this organization, which has been really fun to watch.” The A2AC is grateful for all the community support that we have received over these past five years and look forward to welcoming you back.
