Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Announces $5/Month Student Subscription Program
The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra has announced the launch of a monthly subscription program for students. This flexible subscription guarantees students enrolled in a degree-granting program unlimited access to A²SO performances. For a monthly payment of $5, September through April, student subscribers are guaranteed tickets to all mainstage and pops concerts in section F and will receive automatic upgrades to sections A-E when available.
To claim tickets, students enrolled in the program must show their membership card at the box office on the night of each performance. Student subscribers will then be given the best available seat. In the event of a concert that could be sold out, student subscribers will be notified in advance and will be able to claim their tickets by phone or email to secure their seats.
“We’re so excited to introduce this flexible option to the many students in our community,” said A²SO Director of Marketing & Communications Tyler Rand. “We believe that flexible subscriptions and monthly payments are exactly what younger audiences are looking for. The program is modelled after other popular subscription services like Netflix and Spotfiy.”
According to Rand, the program has been met with great enthusiasm from students, especially those enrolled at the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor campus. With the subscription’s successful launch in late August, the A²SO staff is very optimistic that the program will grow in popularity. Nearly 300 students attended the symphony’s opening night performance with Emanuel Ax, with many using their student subscription to attend.
