AAPS: Slauson 8th grader spends all day Sunday dropping off signs in honor of Earth Day 2022
With district’s & principals’ permission, Shanon Kawata placed signs at 17 schools
Slauson Middle School eighth grader Shanon Kawata spent all day Sunday dropping off signs in honor of Earth Day April 22 at 17 elementary schools in the district—as approved by the district and principals.
In 2020, Shanon made charity yard signs “Humankind: Be Both” which she gave out at the Farmers Market. Donations enabled her to make these nature-themed signs that read: “Humankind is part of NATURE.”
“I would like elementary schoolers to look around to find their own role models in nature,” says Shanon.
Brava!
