AAPS: Skyline HS’s African American Humanities class presents its annual program celebrating Black History Month

“Brave Enough” was the theme of the Skyline High School African American Humanities class’s 10th annual Black History Month event today featuring a meaningful, lively hour of dance, music, skits, history & art. Senior Arthur James—a local hip-hop artist known as “Artdogg”—got students on their feet toward the end of the program.
African American Humanities teacher Tonya Whitehorn said she hoped the program gave students in the audience a greater sense of the importance of being an advocate for themselves.
“I hope when people look at our show, that they take away a spirit of hope; that they take away a spirit of being brave enough to stand up and speak out against injustices of this world,” she said.
