Saturday, Sept. 12, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is open for onsite sales, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. (and on Wednesday, Sept. 16) at 315 Detroit St. Shoppers will find late-summer gems like watermelons, sweet corn, tomatoes, peaches, peppers, as well as autumn staples like apples, winter squash and hardy mums, in addition to all kinds of vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants, meat, eggs, cheese, bread, honey, baked goods, coffee, hot sauce, pierogis, Mediterranean food, masks, candles, jewelry, textiles, body care products and more! Preordering from select vendors continues with curbside or walk-in pick up 7 a.m.-noon. For preorders, contact the vendor directly from our directory. We are accepting cash, and tokens for credit cards and SNAP/EBT/P-EBT are available at our market office window. While shopping and picking up preorders, please follow all physical distancing and safety guidelines posted and communicated by market staff. All vendors and market staff are required to wear masks, and masks are required for customers as well. You’ll find additional information on our website.

Please remember, the City of Ann Arbor ordinance regarding face coverings stipulates one must wear a mask at “any outdoor place when unable to consistently maintain a distance of 6 feet or more from persons who are not members of the same household.” Exemptions apply – the full ordinance can be found online.
Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workday – World Clean Up Day
Participants must wear a mask and maintain at least 6-feet from others at all times. Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and leather work gloves. All minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools and know-how provided. Meeting location will be provided after registration. #WorldCleanUpDay #LetsDoItWorld

* Gallup Park, 9 a.m.-noon. As once said in our newsletter, Gallup is “a treasure for birds!” Come join us as we remove invasive shrubs from the park, improving habitat for birds and the native flora that support them. You’ll be part of a world-wide effort to clean up the Earth! Space is limited, and preregistration is required online.
* Furstenberg Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Like its neighbor, Gallup Park, Furstenberg Nature Area is home to a multitude of plant and animal species. Come join us as we explore the different ecosystems of the area, cutting invasive shrubs along the way. We’ll check meadows, a pond and a native plant garden! We will also be removing trash that washed ashore from the river. Space is limited, and preregistration is required online.
