“Orchestra Night” on Feb. 27 at Hill Auditorium features more than 800 Ann Arbor students

The Fine Arts Department of the Ann Arbor Public Schools will present the popular and talent-filled “Orchestra Night” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Hill Auditorium.

More than 800 students will perform in this annual event at U-M’s celebrated auditorium known for its outstanding acoustics.

The annual event has been creating beautiful music for more than 30 years and features all middle school orchestras as well as the Symphony Orchestras from Pioneer, Skyline and Huron. It requires a tremendous amount of collaboration, organization and countless hours of preparation on the part of all the teachers and students.

Alumni of the Huron Bands also will perform.

The groups will rehearse in succession all day on Feb. 27 in preparation for the evening, arriving on AAPS buses all day long. For many, it is a life-changing experience to perform on this world-renowned stage!

The event will not be broadcast on local TV this year so being there is the only way to see these talented and dedicated musicians.
