Barton Nature Area South Pedestrian Bridge to Temporarily Close Feb. 18 for Maintenance
The south pedestrian bridge in Barton Nature Area, located just off Huron River Drive, is in need of repair as part of ongoing maintenance. Work is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Feb. 18 with completion estimated in mid-March, weather permitting. During construction, the south pedestrian bridge will be closed, but the north pedestrian bridge near the Barton Dam will remain open and provide access to the park. Signs and barricades will be installed to safely direct pedestrians away from the construction zone.
While the temporary closure is an inconvenience to users, the repairs to the bridge will provide longer-term durability. The city thanks park users in advance for their patience.
Additionally, the Gallup Park vehicle bridge that was temporarily closed earlier this month for maintenance is now reopened.
Any questions can be directed to Landscape Architect/Park Planner Hillary Hanzel at hhanzel@a2gov.org. Please see this Barton Nature Area map (PDF) for further details on the closure.
