WCC ranked No. 8 in national list of online certificate programs

Washtenaw Community College is ranked No. 8 in the nation on a list of the Top 60 Online Certificate Degree Programs for 2020, which was released today by Intelligent.com. It considers the top picks to be highly regarded, customizable and cost-effective.

Intelligent.com, a resource for online degree ranking and higher education planning, evaluated accredited colleges and universities and awarded each a score based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment. The scoring methodology also includes student engagement, potential return on investment and leading third-party evaluations.

  7. Central Community College

WCC and Michigan State University (No. 59) are the only Michigan-based institutions to make the top 60. WCC also scores higher than prestigious institutions such as Harvard University (No. 17), Georgetown University (No. 47) and Duke University (No. 60).

In its introduction of the list, Intelligent.com notes a Bureau of Labor Statistics projection that the number of jobs requiring a postsecondary non-degree award, like a certificate, is expected to increase by 11.5% over the next five years.
