Detour Ahead: Construction updates for this weekend and next week in AA
*Updated – Fourth Avenue from Huron to Washington: Friday, Nov. 1 – Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. On Nov. 1-2, Fourth Avenue will be closed to all traffic between Huron and Washington. Southbound vehicles will be detoured eastbound on Huron to southbound on Fifth Avenue, westbound on Washington to southbound on South Fourth Avenue. Northbound traffic will be detoured westbound on Washington Street, northbound on Main Street, eastbound on Huron Street to northbound on North Fourth Avenue.
Pedestrian through traffic will be maintained on one side of the street at all times.
Hill Street from South Forest Avenue to Church: 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. Beginning 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, Hill Street from South Forest Avenue to Church will be closed to traffic for DTE utility work. Eastbound Hill Street will be detoured to northbound East University Avenue, then eastbound Willard Street, then southbound South Forest Avenue back to Hill Street. Westbound Hill Street will be detoured to northbound South Forest Avenue, then westbound Willard Street, then southbound East University Avenue, back to Hill Street.
Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on both sides of the street.
Platt Road from Packard to East Ellsworth: 9 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, southbound Platt Road from Packard to East Ellsworth will be closed to traffic for water main and related work. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Packard Road west to southbound Stone School Road, then eastbound on East Ellsworth Road, then northbound on Platt Road.
Northbound Traffic shall be maintained throughout construction. Work will be conducted in two phases. For the first phase of construction, northbound traffic will proceed as normal in the northbound lane. The second phase of construction will shift northbound traffic to the southbound lane.
First Street from Ann to Huron: Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, First Street from Ann Street to Huron will be closed to through traffic. Vehicles will be detoured eastbound on Ann Street to southbound on Main Street to westbound on Huron to First Street. Pedestrian thru-traffic will be maintained on one side of the street at all times.
