Swimming: Pioneers splash past Monroe in SEC Red dual-meet
The Pioneer swimming and diving team rolled to an easy 153-29 victory last week over Monroe. The defending state-champion Pioneers have yet to lose this year.
Pioneer swept the medley relay. The team of Sophia Guo, Ursula Ott, Meg Pinkerton and Lucy Mehraban won in 1 minute, 51.97 seconds.
Stella Chapman won the 200 free in 1:52.97 with Ava Griffith second (2:08.35) and Amani Sanogo third (2:08.42).
In the 200 IM, Yan Yee Adler touched first in 2:11.90 followed by Guo (2:12.19) and Reese Heidenreich (2:18.07).
Mehraban won the 50 free in 24.33 followed by Ott (25.42) and Pinkerton (25.78).
Grace Daly scored 184.35 points to win the diving. Arianna Pagel was second (169.25) and Heather D’Alecy was third (149).
Heidenreich won the butterfly in 1:04.92 followed by Bridgette Kamara (1:06.38) and Allison Yadmark (1:06.51).
In the 100 free, Piper Campbell touched first in 57.64 followed by Maisie Weyhing (59.82) and Aubrey Baumhover (1:03.86).
Adler won the 500 free in 5:12.83 followed by Sanogo (5:41.60) and Peren Boduch (5:57.14).
Pioneer’s 200 free relay team of Ott, Pinkerton, Hou and Mehraban won in 1:42.32.
Weyhing won the backstroke in 1:05.24 followed by Madeline Baybeck (1:07.85) and Ava Griffith (1:09.80).
In the breaststroke, Hou took first in 1:22.28 followed by Kate Lindstrom (1:23.97) and Anneka Tang (1:28.18).
Pioneer’s team of Adler, Heidenreich, Kamara and Mehraban won the 400 free in 3:44.04.
