Golf: Skyline girls fire another round into the history books
The Skyline girls’ golf team concluded their SEC nine-hole schedule on Sept. 18 and chipped another season into the record books. After finishing with a school-best 10-2 record in the tough SEC last year, the Eagles landed with an even better 12-1 mark this season.
Skyline will get one more shot at undefeated Pioneer in the SEC 18-hole Conference Match on Oct. 2.
In their final SEC 9-hole match, the Eagles fired a team score of 193 at Legacy Golf Club in Bedford. They defeated host Bedford by just four strokes – yes, every stroke counts. Jackson shot a team score of 217 followed by Adrian with a 238.
Adie Maki fired a 43 to lead the Eagles. Cammi Tirico shot a 46, Grace Hescheles shot a 51, Evelynne Crumm fired a 54 and Alison Marshall carded a 56.
