Swimming: Skyline swims (and dives) past Bedford in SEC dual-meet
The Skyline swimming and diving team defeated SEC foe Temperance Bedford 117-69 on Sept. 9.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Lily Cleason, Sophia Nielsen, Erika Sauld and Allie Deininger took first place in 1:55.31. The 200-yard freestyle team of Shannon Lee, Erika Sauld, Lauren MacNeil and Claire Kozma won in 1:46.25. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Shannen Lee, Claire Kozma, Allie Deininger and Lily Cleason touched first in 3:49.32. All three times were state-qualifying results.
Skyline swimmers also secured the top spots in several individual events as well including Claire Kozma (200-yard freestyle 2:00.35), Lily Cleason (200-yard IM 2:14.90), Shannon Lee (50-yard freestyle 25.88), Claire Kozma (100-yard freestyle 54.74), Lily Cleason (500-yard freestyle 5:18.15) and Sophia Nielsen (100-yard breaststroke 1:13.71).
Individual state qualifiers included Kozma in both the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle as well as Lily Cleason in the 200-yard IM and 500-yard freestyle.
Ella Bentley won the dive competition with a final score of 186.70.
The Eagles face Saline on Tuesday.
